new habits is a values driven training, coaching, development and consultancy team. We work in partnership with individuals, teams and organisations; across all sectors, and at all levels.
Our purpose is to support the development of organisational and personal goals. We do this by helping people explore their potential, recognise their choices, identify strategies for change, and realise their true aspirations.
Our services include a broad range of in-house training, customised programmes, one-to-one coaching, consultancy and ongoing support.
Whatever the approach, our values drive the way we work with our customers, and indeed each other.
I started new habits over 12 years ago and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve worked with a broad range of people and organisations, as a coach, consultant, project manager and trainer. I’m an NLP practitioner, accredited coach with a post graduate certificate in executive and business coaching, trained by Roger Steare to deliver 'ethicability' and an MBTI practitioner.
I’m the author of the project game, 'Family Life', We have also published The Reframe Game – ‘How do you see this?’ My commitment to my professional development includes membership of the Association for Project Management (APM), the Association for Coaching and the Association for NLP.
I’m a regular presenter to professional bodies and on Sheffield Enterprise Agency’s ‘BIG’ Programme.
I was formerly a Samaritan at Sheffield branch from 1990 to 2008, which developed my listening skills and empathy. In addition to the normal listening duties, I was Branch Director for three years with responsibility for the quality of the 24/7 service and the recruitment, training, management and care of 130 volunteers. I found this to be an incredible experience both professionally and personally.
Commercial and Marketing Manager
Before joining the team at new habits as Commercial Manager, I worked for a large Government Department for many years. During that time I worked in a variety of roles including Policy,Training, Communications, Marketing and Procurement. I have been a team leader, line manager and coach as well as news editor, contract manager and account executive. They say variety is the spice of life!
My most enjoyment comes from working with people, building that relationship and watching them grow through coaching, mentoring and training. My experience has taught me many things and I hope helps me understand the pressures on individuals and organisations in today's ever changing and target driven environment. I have also learned a lot working for new habits.
Liz joined new habits in 2012 as a Senior Consultant, a decision very much motivated by her belief in what the company stands for and delivers.
Before joining, Liz spent 27 happy years working for one of the world’s leading financial organisations predominantly in IT. She had a variety of roles in IT right up to being part of the top leadership team for IT Operations in Europe and also spent 11 years as a trainer specialising in project management, ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and leadership.
Liz has recent practical experience of performance management, talent management, team leadership and the potential challenges facing women in senior roles. She understands some of the challenges that women (and, indeed, men) in business can face, for example, balancing home commitments with career aspirations. She can also appreciate that sometimes it’s difficult to discuss these topics in the workplace and offers an empathetic ear alongside helping people to explore their choices and find their own practical resolutions. Liz now works as an associate to new habits ltd.
Helen joined new habits as an associate Consultant in 2015. She has always been passionate about learning and development and helping people to achieve their full potential. Joining the new habits team has enabled her to fulfil that passion.
Prior to joining, Helen worked in the public, private and voluntary sector providing an HR & OD consultancy service. She was instrumental in designing and delivering leadership and management development training, one-to-one executive coaching and leadership mentoring, action learning sets and facilitation of be-spoke team development events. She’s an accredited coach with a certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring, an MBTI practitioner and have a Masters in Human Resources Management.
Helen says: “My expertise is working with clients to help them identify the key challenges for their area of business eg developing strategic leadership, supporting an increased level of self-awareness and understanding of others to improve employee engagement, improve creativity, innovation and problem solving.”
